Glacier -To see Glacier National Park as you drift along, go on one of the 1 ½ hour boat tours which leave every day from mid-June to mid-September. Simply follow the trail from Sun Point to Rising Sun Boat Landing. At Glacier’s Lake McDonald there are 1 hour boat tours or you can choose horseback riding tours which leave from the Lake McDonald Lodge. For a guided tour to the Sperry and Grinnell glacier, check with the Glacier visitors centers for times and starting point.
Great Falls - To get a glimpse of life in the Air Force visit Malmstrom AFB. While there you can go on a guided tour of one of the world’s largest intercontinental ballistic missile complexes.
At the Havre Beneath the Streets, you can tour an “underground mall”—which was the original location of the town’s business. On the 1 hour tour, you will see the Soaring Eagle Saloon, the Holland and Son Mercantile, the Wah Sing Laundry and even an opium den.
To see historic buildings in Helena, take a ride on the covered trains on the Last Chance Tour Train. You will visit the city’s major points of interest as well as Last Chance Gulch.
Flathead Lake (Kalispell) is 28 miles long and 15 miles wide, making it the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Surrounded by tree covered mountains, lakeside parks, cherry orchards and a variety of beautiful scenery, a popular way to discover its scenic treasures is by boat. By contacting the Flathead Convention and Visitors Center (406-756-9091) you can hire a boat tour guide, go on a scheduled tour or rent a watercraft and design your own lake adventure.
