Hunting in Montana

Montana's Big Game Hunting includes moose, elk, deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, and mountain goat. Some of the best hunting in the world is right here.

Montana Hunting Licenses:
Non-resident Hunting License:
Game birds: $125
Various elk and deer combinations available: licenses for moose, sheep, goats, and antelope are awarded through special drawings. Mountain licenses must be purchased by August 31st.
$7 conservation fee is added to all hunting licenses.

Great Falls Lewis and Clark National Forest has big game hunting, upland hunting and waterfowl hunts available through Central MT Outfitters or Craig Madsen’s MT River Outfitters.

Custer National Forest (Hardin) - Here you can go on a horseback and pack trips for big game hunting, upland bird hunting or waterfowl hunting trips with Two Leggins Outfitters.

In Clinton, MT contact JM Bar Outfitters for mountain lions during the winter and bear hunts during the spring. Also available are
horseback trips.

Browning’s Morning Star Troutfitters are just the group to call for upland bird and waterfowl hunts. In Kalispell, you will find elk, mule deer, sheep, and goats in the beautiful forest and mountains. Area guides like B&D Outfitters, Bull’s Eye Adventure, or Snowy Springs Outfitters are glad to assist you with making you trip the adventure of a lifetime.

Missoula’s Elk Creek Outfitting specializes in trophy hunts for elk, deer, mountain lions, moose and bear.

Do you enjoy hunting with a bow and a quiver of arrows? Alternatively, maybe you prefer your rifle and shells? Either way, set up a hunting trip with Thompson’s Flat Iron Outfitting. Guided hunts for elk, and deer.

 

The Montana Professional Hunters in Butte provide outfitting for trophy elk and mule deer. For Hungarian partridge, pheasants, ducks and geese contact Diamond Wing in Ennis, Montana. Townsend has several opportunities for guided big game hunting. The Rock Creek Outfitters in Hinsdale offer guided white tail, antelope, elk, mule deer, pheasant and waterfowl hunts.

Roundup, MT is a fantastic area for hunting. It is located on the Musselshell River near the Bull Mountains and is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Through outfitters like MBK or the Musselshell Outfitters you can hunt for white tail, mule deer, antelope, elk, turkeys and even prairie dogs.
