Bozeman, Montana

Settled in 1864 and named for trailblazer John M. Bozeman, the town of Bozeman is known for small grain farming, livestock, dairying, and the State University. It is home to the Bridger Raptor Festival (fall), the Gallatin County Fair (July), the Montana Winter Fair (late January or early February) and the Sweet Pea Festival (August). Its small town feeling is combined with big city attractions like galleries, music, and unique western stores.

Bozeman Museums & Galleries

Ever wonder where we would be without computers? Are you amazed at the influence technology has on society? Then you don’t want to miss touring the award winning American Computer Museum. Its displays show years of technology through thousands of artifacts in a visitor friendly environment.

At Coffrin’s Old West Gallery, you can see Montana through the eyes of frontier photographer, L.A. Huffman. For a look at artifacts and area history, visit the Gallatin Pioneer Museum located on the Montana State University.

For hands-on learning adventure, visit the Children’s Museum of Bozeman. Their exhibits encourage learning about science, art, and humanities through interactive experiences.

One of Montana’s best museums is on the campus of the Montana State University. The Museum of the Rockies is home to the Taylor Planetarium, a world class dinosaur exhibit, travelling exhibits and North American Indian artifacts. There is also a Living History Farm with costumed interpreters who demonstrate mountain life of bygone days.
